Naked aliens dudes and Stahma finds herself in a love triangle.
While investigating the fallen ark from last episode, Nolan and Tommy discover a naked dude in a bag filled with goo.
Naked dude is brought back to Defiance, where he identifies himself as Gordon McClintock - an astronaut that was believed to have been killed in a space station explosion back in 2013 (and from which a biopic starring Robert Pattison was made. No joke). Seems as if the Votans took him to study him.
McClintock hangs out with Nolan, Amanda and Rafe, the latter of which is awed to be in the presence of his childhood hero. They get drunk and discuss old world tales and McClintock wonders if his wife, Grace, is still alive. Also he learns there's no more cable, which is probably more traumatic than waking up to a bunch of aliens.
Roused from a dream where Indogenes are examining him, McClintock - seemingly possessed - finds Amanda on the couch and nearly strangles her. Nolan saves Amanda, then hauls McClintock to jail, where the dude starts hurtling himself against the prison walls and bleeding silver blood.
Nolan demands answers from Yewll, who earlier examined McClintock. Doc explains that McClintock's actually an Indogene with McClintock's memory implants, a 2013 attempt by the Votans to send one of their own to do recon on Earth. McClintock freaks out and takes off.
Rafe, who had earlier told McClintock about a beautiful underground lake, finds the astronaut about to throw himself off the edge. He's just found out he's actually an alien (AND there's no cable) - do you blame him. Rafe talks him down, but tells the rest of the group that McClintock killed himself.
This allows McClintock to head to Alabama, where he reunites with "his" wife Grace, who is older now but still looks good and is doing laundry.
Amidst all this, Connor offers Amanda a job at the Earth Republic HQ in New York. There's most definitely a romantic undercurrent here, given their past.
Amanda remains defiant (get it) and refuses to leave the place she calls home. Connor warns her that Olfin Tennety - the ambassador that tried to off Amanda back in Episode 5 - is most certainly not in jail and coming for her, as she wants Defiance in Earth Republic's grip.
Kenya, who has been continuing to sleep with Stahma, tells her regular client Datak that she's too busy to knock boots with him anymore. Datak's furious.
When Datak tells Stahma -who has obviously been thinking about Kenya a lot - tries to soothe Datak's temper.
Later, a post-coital Stahma asks Kenya about cutting things off with Datak. Kenya explains that she's not going to be party to behavior that she knows upsets Stahma. They make out.
At the end of the episode, a traveler from California wanders into the clinic, with blood oozine out of her orifices. She collapses. "Plague!" Doc Yewll shouts. Uh-oh.
