Deaths, weddings and secret aliens! These are the moments we're still talking about.
We knew Nicky was up to something, but wow, did this episode throw us for a loop. She's an Indogene agent? She murdered Hunter Bell? Well, that's crazy...WOW NOW SHE'S DEAD. Yewll, it seems, does not mess around.
Skeletons in the Closet
Given the relatively civilized nature of life in Defiance, it can be easy to be lulled into a false sense of security. But the new world has a way of smacking you in the face, as it did when Alak's wacky bachelor party was interrupted by the arrival of a dessicated skeleton in the wall of the NeedWant. P.S. did it not smell?
Things between Tommy and Irisa got heated early this season, but it seemed as if their relationship had cooled a bit...until now. Thrust together by the investigation into Hunter Bell's death, the duo showed off a natural chemistry that has us moving them ahead of Alak and Christie in our cross-species romance hierarchy.
The use of flashback can be a sticky proposition, but we positively loved seeing earlier versions of Datak (gutter rat that he was), Tommy, Kenya, and others among Defiance's leading lights. More town history, please.
They've made it through Razor Rain. They've made it through plague. They've made it through prickly cross-species differences. Now, Alak and Christie have made it through the social event of the season and emerged as Casti man and wife. The glimpse into Castithan culture was nifty, as was the fact that the wedding went off without 12 people being murdered. Take that, Starks!
