The moments we're still talking about from the fifth episode.
Caravan of Love
Amanda and Nolan have had chemistry since the pilot episode, but it feels like their little chat in the land coach could be the start of something more substantial between two folks who have, it seems, seen their share of romantic difficulty.
The Serpent and the Salesman
Great job from the folks behind this episode keeping us guessing as to whether or not Irisa had the right guy pretty much up until he confessed at the end. Irisa's rage felt real, the fear in her hostage was palpable, and we didn't really know whose side to be on right up until the serpent's truth serum-like venom kicked in.
Amanda has shown herself a capable administrator, but it turns out she's plenty handy with a rifle, too, as evidenced by her one-shot take-down of the perverse preacher's Castithan henchman.
A Look Back
We've heard about Nolan's adoption of Irisa, but never really seen anything of it or gotten many details, until now. It was only a brief flashback, but the scene of a uniformed Nolan rescuing a young Irisa from a bizarre cult ritual into which her parents had sold her was a heartwarming piece of a harrowing episode.
Rynn to the Rescue
Rynn was such a cool character in Episode 3, we were kind of bummed to think that we might not see her again, seeing as she was being shipped off to Vegas and all. Her scowling visage was a welcome sight in Episode 5, and her rescue of Nolan and Amanda solidified her place in our hearts. Plus - she's going to game! How cool is that?
